Environmentally friendly technologies from MAN Diesel & Turbo are used all over the world. They ensure, for instance, that wind farms in the Caribbean still yield electricity during calm spells, and that cruiseliners are able to turn sea water into drinking water with the help of the heat from their engines. Our bio-fuel plants generate electricity and heat from sustainable raw materials for many households, for instance in Italy. In Fritzens, Austria, restaurants and households are collecting old cooking fat. Instead of dumping it in landfill, it ends up in tanks and is used as fuel for a combined heat and power plant powered by an MAN Diesel & Turbo engine. These and other examples of how our environmental technologies are used can be found on the following pages.
